Symbiosis Honey Farm
Working Together to Make Life Sweet
Symbiosis Honey Farm is the shared passion and stewardship of Hiraman Reynolds and Clara Cunningham, founders of The Human Development Center. Hiraman has 53 years experience as an organic apiarist.
Whether we are supporting a newborn, helping an adult restore nervous system resilience, teaching practitioners about human development, or caring for a colony of honeybees, our mission remains the same: to cultivate the conditions in which life naturally thrives.
Health does not arise from isolated parts, but from the quality of relationships. Every living being exists within an intricate web of connection—a dynamic field where reciprocity, cooperation, and mutual support give rise to resilience, vitality, and wellbeing. This understanding forms the foundation of our work with people, families, communities, and the natural world.
The word symbiosis means “living together,” yet to us it represents something even deeper. It is a way of remembering that every relationship matters: between our cells, our organs, our families, our communities, the soil beneath our feet, the forests that sustain us, the pollinators that nourish our food, and the living intelligence of the Earth itself. Health emerges when these relationships are honored in a good way.
The honeybee embodies this truth with extraordinary elegance.
Within the hive we witness a living expression of coherence, communication, cooperation, adaptability, and service to the whole. Each bee fulfills a unique role while remaining deeply connected to the collective. The hive demonstrates that individual wellbeing and collective wellbeing are inseparable… a principle equally true within the human nervous system, within families, and within ecosystems.
For us, beekeeping is not separate from our work in human development, it is one of its greatest teachers.
The bees continually deepen our understanding of attachment, co-regulation, field dynamics, collective intelligence, perceptual awareness, resilience, and the profound intelligence that emerges when every part contributes to the health of the whole. They remind us that healing is not something we force, but something that naturally unfolds when the conditions for life are restored.
It is with deep gratitude that we care for these remarkable beings, honoring them not only as pollinators and honey makers, but as teachers whose wisdom continually inspires our work, our relationships, and our commitment to living in harmony with all of life.
Life Flourishes In Relationship
Honey, Hives, and What’s to Come
Throughout the season, we occasionally have small batches of raw, local honey available from our hives. Each harvest reflects the unique rhythms of the land, the flowers in bloom, and the extraordinary work of the bees themselves.
If you're interested in purchasing honey, we'd love to hear from you. Please reach out to inquire about current availability.
We're also in the early stages of developing educational offerings through Symbiosis Honey Farm, including beekeeping classes, workshops, and opportunities to learn more about the remarkable world of honeybees through a relational, ecological, and biodynamic lens.
Whether you're curious about beginning your own journey with bees, deepening your understanding of pollinators, or simply wanting to stay connected with what is unfolding here at the farm, we invite you to reach out. We'd be delighted to keep you informed as new offerings emerge.
