Dojo Rental at The Peace Education Somatic School
(Formerly referred to as “The Dojo”)
Would you like to host a workshop/ series/ or special event? We are broadcasting our search to find folks who would like to utilize this beautiful space and add to the rich mix of current offerings.
Dojo Rental Opportunity:
The Dojo is a large space in downtown Bellingham. A variety of events are hosted in this space spanning from dance, music, mediation, Aikido, educational opportunities, nervous system work shops, etc.
Unique qualities of the Dojo:
- A large space with a quality of stillness, peacefulness, and simplicity
-Nice natural light
-Soft felted cotton floor cloth, supportive to body centered practices that spend time on the floor
-Group music events/ live music with dance are welcomed
-Seating along the sides of the space/ additional folding chairs are available/ backjacks
-Promotional and marketing assistance through the Human Development Center's Facebook page and email list for a small additional fee.

Dojo Rental Rates as of Fall 2024
Ongoing classes (weekly/monthly) $35/hour
Special events under 4 hours sliding scale: $50 - $85/hour
Half day rental fee (4 hours) sliding scale: $185 - $325
Full day rental fee (8 hours) sliding scale: $370 - $650
Partial weekend rental sliding scale: $520 - $900 (Fri 3 hrs & Sat 8 hrs)
Full workshop weekend sliding scale: $780 - $1,270 (Fri 3 hrs, Sat 8 hrs, Sun 5 hrs)
- Discount hourly rental prices for weekly morning rentals or private sessions. Please inquire.
-Deposit (Refundable) - $100
-$20/hour cleaning fee for any cleaning necessary to restore the dojo to its pre-use condition (subtracted from your deposit)
-Rentals include 30 minutes before and after the event for set up and clean up. Any additional time needed will be charged at the hourly studio rate.
Details: The event date will be secured when the $100 deposit fee is made. The $100 deposit will be rolled over toward the rental cost. The remaining balance towards the rental fee is due 10 days prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation one month before an event is free of consequence. If you cancel three weeks or less, prior to the event, we will keep the $100 deposit. If cancellation occurs one week or less prior to the event, the full amount will be non-refundable except in the instance of an emergency or other clear understandable cause.
